Meet Jessica

Jessica handles a variety of complex civil litigation cases throughout Colorado and Wyoming including construction defect, product liability, mold, fire, subrogation, and general commercial matters as well as general liability matters such as personal injury and premises liability. She regularly and successfully provides a vigorous defense to her clients while prosecuting related downstream claims.

Firm Service/History

Jessica became a partner of CCRJ in July of 2019. Prior to joining CCRJ, Jessica was a shareholder at a well-respected Denver law firm. She has experience counseling clients in risk management and pre-litigation disputes and has guided them through mediation, discovery, arbitration, and trial.

After graduating from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where she earned a dual bachelor of arts degree with high honors in political science and history, and a master’s degree in public administration, Jessica attended the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, graduating in 2006. While at DU, she served on the Student Bar Association and earned various moot court awards. Prior to attending law school, Jessica worked in local and state government and as an advocate for non-profit organizations specializing in community leadership and domestic violence prevention and treatment.

Professional Activities

Jessica is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Colorado and Wyoming. She is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC) – a professional trade association of vetted and premier defense and corporate counsel and industry executives dedicated to leading the profession by advancing the principles of integrity, professionalism, fair civil justice, intellectual capital, and fostering the trust and value of fellowship and referrals. She has also received the Certified Litigation Management Professional accreditation from the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM). Jessica is a former member of the Thompson G. Marsh Inn of Court and a former officer of its Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, a former member of its Board of Directors, and the former Co-Chair of its Construction Law Committee. Jessica is also a member of the Wyoming Defense Lawyers Association.

Honors and Awards

In 2020, Jessica was selected for membership in the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC).

In 2020, Jessica was selected by America’s Top 100 LLC as one of America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators® in the State of Colorado.

In 2019, Jessica received the Certified Litigation Management Professional accreditation from the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).

In 2016, she was honored by Law Week Colorado in its Barrister’s Best Edition as the People’s Choice Construction Defects Lawyer for Defendants.

She was selected as a “Super Lawyers Rising Star” in the years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 – a peer designation awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of the eligible population of the State of Colorado.

In 2014 and 2015, Jessica was selected by the American Society of Legal Advocates as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Litigation Lawyers in Colorado.

AVVO has also awarded Jessica a 10/10 rating based on peer and client review, experience, and accomplishments.

In 2006, she earned various moot court awards, including: DU Law Outstanding Barrister; Finalist in Wechsler National Criminal Appellate Advocacy Competition; Best Direct and Semi-Finalist in DU/CU Cup.

In 2005, Jessica was named an Outstanding Orator and Semi-Finalist in the Hoffman Cup, and was a Finalist in the Hoffman Cup in 2004.
